Donkeys, horses, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits and pigs, and then those that allow us to produce our delicious cheese: sheep. The animals you find on the farm are the cornerstone of our business. Our lives are intertwined with them, in a balance based on caring and the quality of life of all.
Our location is part of this balance: the farm is in the heart of the Trieste Karst, in the village of Ceroglie at the foot of Mount Ermada, and the possibility to let our flock graze freely every day under the watchful eye of the shepherd has a beneficial effect on the animals.
Our flock is made up of two types of sheep:
- the Sardinian sheep
- the sheep native to Karst and Istria
The Sardinian sheep is one of the oldest species in Europe, whereas there are only a few examples of the Karst sheep, and our farm is working hard to preserve this species.
